Why we're getting behind Alison Williamson and London 2012.

We are delighted to announce that we are now supporting local Archer, Alison Williamson, as she attempts to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Following the appointment of BMW Group as the Official Automotive Partner of the 2012 Games, BMW is now actively supporting British athletes, such as Ellie Simmonds and Louis Smith, via the BMW London 2012 Performance Team. Meanwhile, in line with the Performance Team initiative, BMW dealers like us will be working with local athletes, supporting their endeavours to qualify for Team GB or ParalympicsGB.

Alison lives in Stafford and does most of her training in Lilleshall. Both of Alison's parents were archers and her father gave Alison her first bow when she was just seven. By the age of nine she had entered her first competition, and at fourteen she became a Junior International representing the British Junior Team while still attending school. Alison's success has gone from strength to strength, and she has already competed in five Olympic Games – hopefully London 2012 will be her sixth! What a fantastic achievement.

The training regime for a London 2012 hopeful is relentless so it really helps to have people behind you. I've always loved BMW and can't believe I'll be driving a new BMW 1 Series myself from now until the end of the 2012 Games.’
